Choose the recurring responsibilities that most often need coordination. Meals, walks, and supply checks are common starting points, but your pet’s routine should determine the list. Health-related timing should come from the veterinarian’s instructions.
Adding every possible reminder at once can make the useful ones harder to notice. Start small, review the first week, and expand only where the prompts help.
Make the alert actionable
Name the pet, the task, and the person responsible. Set the recurrence to match the real routine. Keep supporting instructions in a place the caregiver can find quickly. A reminder saying “care” is much less useful than “Luna — evening meal.”
Confirm the assigned person is available and has agreed to the responsibility. A notification is not a substitute for that conversation.
Check notification delivery
Review the app’s notification permissions and relevant device settings. Set a harmless sample task and verify the intended caregiver receives the reminder. If it does not arrive, check permissions and device restrictions before relying on it.
Have a fallback for important tasks. A phone may be off, disconnected, or unavailable. The household should know who to contact if the scheduled task is not recorded.
Close the loop with completion
After doing the task, record it as complete. Dismissing an alert and doing the care are different actions. If a task is delayed, tell the backup and confirm the handoff. Review repeatedly ignored prompts and change the arrangement where needed.
