Team Pet Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 20 2025

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Team Pet mobile application or any related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who May Use the Service

You must (a) be at least 13 years old or have verifiable parental consent, and (b) have the power to enter a binding contract with us under applicable law. Parents/guardians are responsible for a minor’s use of the Service.

3. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email and/or an in-app notice at least 7 days before it takes effect. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.

4. Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate registration details (name, valid email/phone).
Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
You may delete your account at any time from the in-app settings. Deletion removes all personal and pet data from production systems promptly, subject to any legal holds.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

Certain features (e.g., chat for solo users, expanded pet slots) require a paid subscription (“Premium”).

Billing is handled by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat depending on platform.
Renewals: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Trials & Refunds: Any trial period or refund is governed by the relevant app store’s policies. We do not issue direct refunds.

6. License to You

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, strictly in accordance with these Terms.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Violate any law or regulation.
Post or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringes intellectual-property rights.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
Interfere with security-related features or our servers.
Use automated scripts or bots except for legitimate accessibility purposes.

8. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of text, photos, and other content (“User Content”) you upload. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process it solely to operate and improve the Service. We do not publicly display your chat messages or pet data.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software and branding, is our property or that of our licensors, protected by copyright and other laws. Except as expressly allowed, you may not reproduce or create derivative works.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with Supabase (database/storage), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), and RevenueCat (subscriptions). Your use is also subject to their respective terms.

11. Health & Safety Disclaimer

Team Pet is not a veterinary or medical service. Any information you enter or receive is for organizational purposes only. Always consult a qualified professional for pet health questions.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 8–18 survive termination.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Team Pet and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, even if we have been advised of the possibility. Our total liability for direct damages will not exceed US $100 or the amount you paid in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Team Pet, its officers, directors, and employees from any claim arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

16. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. It affects your rights.

Arbitration: Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.
Class Action Waiver: Disputes must be brought only in an individual capacity, not as a class action.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of arbitration by emailing teampet@myyahoo.ccom within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
This clause does not apply where prohibited by law.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If arbitration is found unenforceable, exclusive jurisdiction and venue will lie in the federal or state courts located in The United States of America, Illinois.

18. Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Team Pet regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements.
